Welcome to the press conference for the 1st Malaysia Invitational online event and the first event hosted under our new branding, Persekutuan Renang Malaysia.
The pandemic has shown no mercy to sports and being in a critical year leading to the Olympics, we are desperate for competitions which is much needed as part of the divers preparation for the FINA Diving World Cup which is the last qualifying event for Olympics.
We had to come out with ideas how to help our divers to be in a competitive competition mode. 3 weeks ago both the coaches, both Coach Christian and Li Rui decided on a mini internal diving event among the divers, simulating as close as possible to competition.
We have now taken it a step further by hosting the 1st Malaysia International Online Diving event. Christian will be happy to brief on the technicalities of this event later.
To help us in simulating closely to an international diving competition, Nestle-Milo has generously agreed to dress-up the diving pool with competition banners, back drops etc. This will provide a “competition feeling” for the divers.
The 5 countries participating are Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. Competition will start at 9.00 am (Malaysian Time).
